In the first phase, some patients took Reductil while others took placebo. These patients were observed for 12 months and results showed that patients on Reductil achieved effective weight loss of about 5.2kg when compared to placebo patients who reported 0.5kg weight gain.

During the second phase of study, patients who had already lost about 2 percent of their initial body weight after 4 week of treatment were divided into 2 groups. Group 1 patients were continued with Reductil medication whereas Group 2 was given placebo for further 48 weeks. When the results were evaluated, Group 1 patients showed a steady decrease in weight loss of about 4% as compared to a gain of about 0.2%t by Group 2 patients who took a placebo pill.

In the last phase, those patients were included who showed about 5% weight loss after six months with Reductil. These patients successfully maintained the lost weight and did not regain any weight whereas patients who were given a placebo pill started to gain weight again.

During this study, it was noted that 80% of all patients on Reductil medication had maintained their weight loss and did not regain any weight as compared to 16% on the placebo medication.

Similarly, herbal supplements that contain the plant-derived chemical ephedrine also are available online and can cause similar health problems.

When individuals don’t reduce fat in the diet, diarrhea and gas with oily spotting can be significant side effects.

The study concludes by saying that while diet pill claims may be tempting, weight loss only happens when more calories are burned than consumed.

Aim for 10,000 steps every day when you’re trying to lose weight – it’s also great to stay at that level once you reach your target – it will help you stay slim.
